Founded in 1954, ALKOTEX 1954 SRL operates as a commercial and technological partner for companies in the classic textile, technical textile, industrial, and high fashion sectors, including apparel, leather goods, and footwear.
Over the years, the company has built a consolidated network of representations and collaborations with renowned international manufacturers of highly specialized machinery, offering qualified technical consulting and strategic technical/commercial support.

The Foundation
Alkotex was founded on January 11, 1954, in Milan by Nicola Cataletto, with the acquisition of the first two representations in the textile machinery sector.

Business Expansion
With the acquisition of important foreign companies in the sector of warp-knitting machines and circular knitting machines, the business grew rapidly and consolidated with sales to the most important clients in the industry.
1981
Synthetic Fibers and Their Finishing
Alkotex actively entered the synthetic yarn sector with the Swiss brand Heberlein and textile quality control with Protechna.
1991
Technical Evolutions
Technical textiles joined classic textiles, opening up a new world. The acquisition of the Barudan brand added important technical solutions for embroidery processes.
2000
Increasing Demand for Technical Fibers
Carbon, glass, and aramid represent the range of special fibers used for important new applications. Technology evolved again to meet the unprecedented needs of industrial textiles.
2004
The Second Generation
Alessandro Cataletto, the second generation of the family, took control of the company.

Increasing Vertical Integration
Another important step within the yarn and yarn preparation sector: the Temco brand became part of the Alkotex portfolio, allowing it to reach high-level clients.

New SSM Partnership
Signing of the contract with the renowned SSM brand, strengthening the technological offering in the yarn preparation sector.
